YES Center and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) are
pleased to invite your outreach staff to participate in the SPNS YMSM of Color
Outreach Workers’ Meeting. The meeting will be held from the evening of
Friday, October 19th through Sunday, October 21st, 2007. Please complete and
submit the online registration form at www.YESCenter.org
(click the “October 2007 Outreach Workers Meeting Registration” link on the
home page) by September 28th for each staff member planning to attend
the conference. |

Hotel Information |

The Embassy Suites Hotel is located at 102 North End Avenue, New York, NY 10282.
The hotel’s telephone number is 212-945-0100. A block of rooms is reserved for
this meeting at the rate of $369.00 (per diem plus tax, but other taxes also
apply). Each grantee is responsible for reserving rooms DIRECTLY with the
hotel. The process is:

Call 212-945-0100 after September 24th, 2007.

Request “Group Reservations”
-
Reference the “George Washington University Meeting”
-
Provide the dates of “October 19-21, 2007”
-
Request the number of rooms and provide a credit card for payment and
reservations.

General Information |
|
Costs for hotel rooms, air travel, ground transportation, and evening meals are
the responsibility of the participants. Please contact your HAB project officer
or your agency director if you have questions about allowable expenses.
Conference attendees will receive a packet of meeting materials. To minimize
the amount of materials participants must take home, however, the majority of
materials will be placed on the YES Center website for use and review.
For those participants desiring to venture out in NYC, the concierge at the
Embassy Suites is a great resource. The hotel lobby and each hotel room have
information about area attractions. Blaine Parrish, YES Center Program Manager,
can also answer questions about area attractions or activities. Blaine can be

Grantee Meeting Schedule |
| The outreach meeting will begin with a
Networking Session on Saturday evening from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the
Embassy Suites in the lobby area of the hotel. Appetizers and beverages will be
served (free at the Embassy Suites). Participants should make dinner plans
following this session. A restaurant list will be provided in your meeting
packet. The remainder of the sessions will be located in the hotel with lunch
and breakout sessions in the pre-function area. On Saturday October 20th and
Saturday October 21st, the meeting will begin at varying times. Please
reference the agenda on the YESCenter.org website. |

Food |
| On Friday, October 20th, appetizers and
beverages will be provided by the hotel at the Networking Session. Participants
should plan individually for dinner. On Saturday, a continental breakfast,
morning refreshment, lunch, and afternoon break will be provided. On Sunday,
breakfast, lunch, and afternoon break will be provided. Dinners on Friday and
Saturday nights are the responsibility of each participant. A list of local
restaurants will be included in the registration packet. |

Travel |
|
For travel planning, Mario de la Cruz (mdelacruz@basnyc.org)
can assist with information about area airport and transportation on the MTA
system. Blaine Parrish (blainep@gwu.edu;
202-714-5450) can also assist with general questions. Travel is the
responsibility of the attendees.

Outreach |
|
Participants in the meeting will be attending several outreach venues in the
NYC area. Please meet with outreach staff and discuss the importance of using
this time to gather information about outreach and be prepared to share with
the organization lessons they learned about the venues. Actual outreach
activities will not take place. This outing is an opportunity to see other
outreach venues and social networking in action. |
